Drug Uses
Wellbutrin (Anti Depressant), acts directly on the brain and other nerve cells. It is used to treat depression, ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder), bipolar depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, cocaine addiction, nicotine addiction, and lower back pain. Also, helps in quitting smoking (identical to Zyban). It is chemically unrelated to tricyclic, tetracyclic, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, or other known antidepressant agents.

How Taken
Wellbutrin comes as a tablet to take by mouth. The general dosage is one tablet 1–3 times a day. It may be taken with or without a meal. Wellbutrin should be swallowed, do not crush, chew, or divide it. For best effect Wellbutrin should be taken regularly for a couple of weeks. Even you feel better do not stop taking Wellbutrin without your doctor`s approval. If you have been taking Wellbutrin in large doses or for a long time, your doctor will most likely want to gradually lower your dose before you stop taking Wellbutrin. Do not take more or less of this drug, than your doctor has prescribed to you.

Warnings/Precautions
Let your doctor know if you have history of seizures, head injury or brain tumor, heart, liver or kidney disease, eating disorder, diabetes, alcohol dependence, any allergies, the intent to quit smoking. Be careful when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities. Avoid or limit alcoholic drinks as they can increase your risk of seizures. Do not take Wellbutrin if you are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or breast feeding as there have not been adequate studies of this drug`s effect during pregnancy. It is known that Wellbutrin passes into breast milk. Patients over 65 years old may be more sensitive to the effects of Wellbutrin.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take the Missed Dose if it is within 4 hours of the next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Possible Side Effects
Some of the Possible Side Effects are- dry mouth, headache, increased sweating, nausea/vomiting, constipation, anxiety, fatigue and blurred vision. Notify your doctor if you experience any of these or other conditions. You should let your doctor know immediately if you experience unusual weight loss or gain, palpitations, agitation, trouble sleeping, tremor, dizziness, fainting, mood changes, slowed movements, difficulty urinating, decreased sex drive, and drowsiness, seizures, mental problems, fever, muscle aches, yellowing of the eyes or skin. It is unlikely for allergic reaction (trouble breathing, rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness) to occur, however if you experience any of these conditions you should let your doctor know immediately.

Storage
Store this medication at room temperature 20–25°C (68–77°F). Keep away from children and excess heat, light and moisture (not in the bathroom).

Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately. Some of the symptoms of a Wellbutrin overdose are- seizures, hallucinations, loss of consciousness, weakness, a fast heartbeat, and heart attack.

More Information
When taking this drug you may feel dizzy or lose conscious when getting up from sitting or lying position. Try getting up slowly, if that does not help and the problem continues you should notify your doctor. Limit the amount of caffeine intake during your Wellbutrin therapy.
